Allan's
Pub & Grub
Pontiac, IL
(Casual Dining)

Located at Allan's Pub & Grubin Pontiac,
Illinois is a Broaster Company pressure
fryer that was once a victim of a fire. After a 1997 fire
engulfed a nearby store, it spread quickly to Allan's Pub &
Grub. The restaurant was damaged beyond repair. After
the rubble was cleared, they brought out a charred model 1800
pressure fryer. Mike Brewer of Illinois Food Systems, the
authorized Broaster distributor for that area, cleaned it up and replaced a few parts.
Now it runs like a new machine.
After the fire
owners Allan and Leona Mussari decided to rebuild, and what a job they did. Now there is
seating for approximately 200 people, as well as a banquet
facility for private parties at the top of a grand
staircase. They also purchased a second Model 1800 Broaster
pressure fryer and are now selling about 1,000 lbs. of chicken a
week! They attribute about 40% of
their total business to sales of Genuine Broaster ChickenŽ.
While in the midst of rebuilding,
Mike Brewer introduced them to the Broaster Model 2000 broiler. With about 25% of their business now
coming from products cooked on the model 2000, Allan's Pub &
Grub is becoming well known for their steaks. Allan loves
the model 2000, "It's a great machine, no flare ups, easy to
use, and the best thing is, it's smokeless!" They serve
everything from a succulent Butterfly Pork Chop and a Broiled
Trout Filet to a 10 oz. New York Strip or Ribeye and an 8 oz.
Filet Mignon.
Their menu states on
the front, "For Special People ... Our Customers, The
Tradition Continues!" And this is the feeling you
get every time you walk in their door.
