The
Countryside
Roseville, MN
(Sit Down Restaurant)

The
Countryside Restaurant in Roseville, Minnesota has been noted for quality food at
reasonable prices for many years. Since Jay Rhein purchased his
first Broaster pressure fryer in 1957, Broaster ChickenŽ has become their
signature menu item. Today, Broaster
ChickenŽ accounts for 55-60 percent of Countryside's gross sales.
Also featured on Countryside's menu are Italian dishes and BBQ ribs prepared
in a Broaster Mist-Aire oven.
Mike Rhein, Jay's
son, began working for his father full-time in 1966. He's now in charge of
operations. Along with Jim DuRose, Countryside's manager for
over 23 years, Mike
has continued to increase Broaster ChickenŽ sales through
attention to detail and promotion.
The addition of a
"carry-out only" area separate from the full-service
restaurant significantly increased sales. Future plans include a drive-up window for
increased customer service. Consequently, carry-out and
catering now comprises 35 percent of chicken business. Utilizing
three 14-pound capacity Broaster pressure fryers, they are able to handle orders
up to 1400 pieces.
One
of the first three restaurants in Minnesota to serve Broaster
ChickenŽ, Countryside continues to offer the
complete Genuine Broaster ChickenŽ program today. They
credit their success to: "good
service, consistent products, profitability, and consumer
recognition."
Thanks to pioneers like Jay and Mike, the
BroasterŽ name continues to gain strength.
