Prepare
cinnamon sugar by mixing cinnamon and sugar in a bowl and
set aside for later use. (Note: feel free to add more
cinnamon or sugar to alter flavor to your personal liking.)
-
Prepare
roll by first mixing lukewarm milk into yeast and sugar,
stiring well until both yeast and sugar are dissolved.
Then let milk solution stand for 5-10 minutes
-
After
standing period, pour milk solution into a bowl and mix in
Broaster All-Purpose Batter, eggs, and shortening,
completely blending the ingredients in either by hand or
blender.
-
Knead
or mix the dough until the dough becomes elastic and smooth,
then shape into a dough ball.
-
Place
the dough ball into an oiled bowl and cover with a damp
towel. Let the dough proof for about 90 minutes or
until it doubles in size.
-
After
proofing, push the air out of the dough and roll it back
into a dough ball.
-
Cut
the dough ball in half and roll the halves into two dough
balls.
-
On
a countertop sprinkled with flour, roll out each dough ball
into a 1/8" thick 10" x 14" rectangle.
-
Sprinkle
the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the dough rectangle.
-
Starting
from the top, roll and tuck the dough until it looks like a
log.
-
Cut
the log every 1 to 1-1/4" and place the individual
rolls flat side down about 1" apart on a greased pan.
-
Let
rolls rise for 15 minutes and deep fry each roll for 20
seconds on each side at 360º F, or until golden brown.
