The Broaster Company, a leading manufacturer and supplier of foodservice equipment, fresh and frozen foods, and branded food programs, presented Sav-A-Step #35 in Louisville, KY, with its Golden Chicken Award in a ceremony held at the convenience store.  The Golden Chicken award is presented annually by The Broaster Company to a select number of foodservice operators across the country that have shown exemplary merchandising skills in the promotion and sale of Genuine Broaster Chicken®, the company’s signature product.

Sav-A-Step #35, located at 11701 Westport Road in Louisville, started serving Genuine Broaster Chicken® in 1980 when it purchased a model 1800 Broaster® pressure fryer.  “We have been serving great chicken for a heck of a long time, so it’s been very good for us,” states Cindy Bullock, deli supervisor at the store for over 15 years.

Stokers of Kentucky, the authorized Broaster distributor located in Louisville, KY, provides sales and service of Broaster® products to the operation, which currently  cooks up as many as 5 cases of chicken per week.  While Sav-A-Step normally uses premarinated fresh chicken from Broaster, which saves them time and effort in preparing the delicious product, they also keep a supply of Broaster® Recipe frozen chicken on hand for times when demand outpaces their supply of fresh product.  “It’s very convenient to have both Genuine Broaster Chicken® product options available,” says Cindy.

Sav-A-Step avails themselves of several other Broaster products as well to add variety to their menu.  The store also serves Broaster® Recipe popcorn chicken, chicken tenders, and hot wings.
