The Broaster Company, a leading manufacturer and supplier of foodservice equipment, fresh and frozen foods, and branded food programs, presented Circle S in St. Croix, Indiana, with its Golden Chicken Award in a ceremony held at the convenience store.  The Golden Chicken award is presented by The Broaster Company to a select number of foodservice operators across the country that have shown exemplary merchandising skills in the promotion and sale of Genuine Broaster Chicken®, the company’s signature product.

The Circle S convenience store, located at Highway 37 South in St. Croix, was established 13 years ago.  Six months after opening, the store began serving Genuine Broaster Chicken®.  “It’s been great for us,” says Heather Seifert, store manager since the operation opened. “Our nearest competition is miles away and we have developed a loyal customer base.”

Circle S, formerly known as Michael’s Country Store before its purchase by Wink Food Stores, also features the delicious Broaster® Recipe line of top quality foods including hot wings, regular and Cajun popcorn chicken, chicken tenders, potato wedges, and frozen biscuits.  Stokers of Kentucky, the authorized Broaster distributor located in Louisville, KY, provides sales and service of Broaster® products to the operation that is popular with guards from the nearby medium security prison, students from a nearby school, and hunters frequenting the area during hunting season.  A recently added in-store Broaster Canopy over the 6’ heated deli case has helped to attract the attention of even more customers to the operation’s hot food offerings.

Circle S uses Broaster’s premarinated fresh chicken, which saves store employees time and effort in properly preparing the delicious bone-in product, a signature item in the store’s foodservice section.  Circle S also uses a proprietary Broaster batter called Slo-Bro® to lock in the product’s unique flavor while it is being cooked in a special Broaster Company manufactured pressure fryer.
