09/22/2004: The Broaster Company Receives Export Achievement Award

Beloit, WI - The Broaster Company received the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Export Achievement Certificate during a luncheon presentation at Broaster’s headquarters on September 22nd. The presentation was performed by William H. Lash III, Assistant Secretary for Market Access and Compliance from the Commerce Department’s International Trade Administration in Washington , DC .  The framed certificate recognizes The Broaster Company and its employee team for “Recent Accomplishments in the Global Marketplace.”

Mr. Lash noted that Broaster was presented with the certificate “in recognition of its energetic pursuit of foreign markets and it successful and growing exports of quality American-made equipment worldwide.”

Accompanying Mr. Lash in making the presentation were Paul D. Churchill, Director, and Jerald T.Veit, International Trade Specialist, from the U.S. Commercial Service’s Milwaukee Export Assistance Center , and Amy L. Shirey, Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington , DC .

Juan Vasquez, Broaster’s Export Sales Manager, accepted the award on the behalf of The Broaster Company.  Mr. Vasquez credits Broaster's dramatic growth in export activity to the strong performance of the company's entire corporate team representing its sales, service, manufacturing, engineering, marketing, finance, and food science departments.  “Their outstanding support coupled with an excellent international distributor organization has allowed our export sales to flourish.”

In the past 24 months, Broaster has penetrated several new markets for its products including the Canary Islands, India, Mexico, Benelux countries (Belgium/ Netherlands/ Luxembourg), Peru, Russia, Spain, Portugal, Syria, Tunisia, Turkey, Taiwan, Honduras, France, Iran, Indonesia, Romania, Brunei, Korea, Greece, Nigeria, Dominican Republic, and Haiti.  In addition, Broaster has worked with U.S. Commercial Service foreign offices in Chile , China , Canada , Germany , Hong Kong , India , Italy , New Zealand , Singapore , Switzerland , and Taiwan to further export activity in those regions as well.

Commenting on the award, Broaster President and COO Richard Schrank noted that since its inception in 1954, Genuine Broaster Chicken®, the Company’s signature product, has become a favorite of people all over the world with thousands of foodservice operators around the globe enjoying the licensing rights to use the Broaster name and trademark.  In addition, Schrank credited Broaster’s worldwide network of authorized distributors with making Broaster an international company famous for a full line of products including pressure fryers, ventless fryers, rotisserie ovens, fresh and frozen foods, and other related items.  “I commend Juan and the entire Broaster team for their efforts in successfully extending in the world marketplace our unique combination of products, equipment, training, marketing, and no-cost licensing programs.”
