Company Grieves Passing of Investor Group Partner Irv Simms
Beloit,
WI - Irwin “Buzz” Simms, 80, a partner in The Broaster
Company ownership group and former chairman of Mandabach and
Simms Advertising, Chicago, passed away Saturday, August 14,
2004, in Chicago.
Mr. Simms was a partner in and vice chairman of an investor
group that purchased The Broaster Company from Alco Standard
Corporation in 1991 and continues to own the Company today.
Prior to that, Mr. Simms was founder and chairman of Mandabach
and Simms, a nationally known foodservice advertising agency.
The Broaster Company was a client of the Mandabach and Simms
agency for over 20 years.
“Beyond his ownership involvement in the Company, Irv was a
good friend and highly-valued consultant,” stated Richard
Schrank, President/COO of The Broaster Company. “His sparkling
personality and superb business acumen will be greatly
missed.”
In lieu of flowers, the family has indicated they would
appreciate memorial contributions be made in Mr. Simms’ name
to Chicago JUF, One S. Franklin, Chicago, IL 60606, or Jewish
Federation of South Palm Beach County, 9901 Donna Klein Blvd.,
Boca Raton, FL 33428.
