02/23/2004: Broaster Announces New Frozen Food Selections

Beloit, WI - Frank Dowling, president of The Broaster Company’s Broaster® Recipe Foods division, announced today the introduction of three new product additions to the company’s ever-expanding line of high-quality, ready-to-cook frozen foods.  Available for immediate sale and delivery are Cajun catfish tenders, cod fillets, and beer batter recipe shrimp.

The new Broaster® Recipe Cajun Catfish Tender Strips are made from prime quality, farm-raised catfish.  The tenders are marinated and then coated in Broaster’s traditional Cajun corn-meal based breading for a deliciously “hot” ethnic taste sensation.  Broaster® Recipe Premium 1 Oz. Cod Fillets are made from 100% skinless, boneless, North Atlantic natural cut cod fillets that have been delicately coated in the Company’s proprietary Fish and Chips Batter for Broaster’s unique flavor profile.  Broaster® Recipe Premium Beer Batter Recipe Shrimp are deveined, whole piece North Atlantic shrimp that offer a firm, crunchy, and satisfying bite.  This 31-35 count per pound product is offered tail-off for operator convenience.

All three products offer a very clean taste, contain no preservatives or additives, and are designed to absorb less oil when fried for a crispy coating and more tender fish portion.  Each product also offers the possibility of being used in a variety of menu options including as a delicious appetizer, distinctively different lunch, or sumptuous dinner.

Packed in case sizes designed to be easy to handle (8 lb. for shrimp and cod, 10 lb. for Cajun catfish), all three products may be either open- or pressure-fried.  The cod and shrimp products may be baked in conventional or convection ovens as well.
