12/22/2003: Broaster Announces Executive Retirement, Promotion

Beloit, WI - The Broaster Company, L.L.C. has announced the retirement of Gerald Mohr, President and C.O.O. of the firm.  Mohr, with over 30 years of service to The Broaster Company and over 45 years of experience in the foodservice industry, will retire at the end of 2003.  Richard Schrank, president of the Broaster Systems Division, will succeed him in his role as President/C.O.O.

Mohr joined The Broaster Company, then a division of Alco Food Service Co., in 1973 as Assistant Sales Manager.  He was promoted to Sales Manager in 1978, Vice President of Sales in 1983, President in 1986, and President/Chief Operating Officer in 1991, when the company was sold by Alco to a small group of private investors who continue to own the company today.  During Mohr’s tenure, The Broaster Company experienced significant growth and expansion as evidenced by the company’s construction of a complete new manufacturing facility in 1977, the initiation of the highly successful Broaster Recipe Frozen Foods Division in 1992, and the construction of a new administrative and training facility in 1998.  Prior to joining Broaster, Mohr worked for Hobart Corporation in Davenport, Iowa, later serving as branch manager of their Rockford, Illinois location.

Schrank joined Broaster in January of 1992 as a Regional Sales Manager and was promoted to National Sales Manager in 1994, Vice President of Sales for the Systems Division in 1996, Executive Vice President of Sales for the Systems Division in 1999, and President of the Systems Division on January 1, 2003.  Shrank will assume his new responsibilities as President and Chief Operating Officer of the firm on January 1, 2004.
