02/20/2003: BRO-OIL™ Rice Bran Oil
Beloit, WI – The Broaster Company now
offers BRO-OIL™ Rice Bran Oil, a favored ingredient of Asian
chefs that delivers superior flavor, lightness and
performance. BRO-OIL is available from Broaster and is
offered exclusively to Broaster’s trademark operators.
Foods fried in BRO-OIL are characterized by a light, delicately
nut-like flavor and tend to be less greasy. Because of the
oil’s light viscosity, foods fried in BRO-OIL absorb
significantly less oil, which results in reduced food costs.
BRO-OIL Rice Bran Oil is valued in the back of the house for its
high smoke point, which yields exceptional performance under the
high temperatures required for deep frying or pan frying.
Less of the oil is absorbed by the food, reducing the frequency
of oil replacement and fryer clean-up, without compromising the
quality of the food. BRO-OIL is highly stable without
hydrogenation and has an extended shelf life.
BRO-OIL offers benefits to consumers, including no cholesterol
or trans-fatty acids and is naturally low in saturated
fat. It has the balance of saturated, monounsaturated, and
polyunsaturated fats recommended by the American Heart
Association and the World Health Organization. Naturally
occurring Vitamin-E group antioxidants have benefits as a
nutraceutical. And, BRO-OIL is hypoallergenic, making it a
good option for people sensitive to food allergens.
BRO-OIL Rice Bran Oil is extracted from the husks of rice grown,
harvested and stored in the southern United States.
Because rice is one of the world’s oldest and most trusted
crops and BRO-OIL is not a genetically modified organism (GMO),
foodservice operators using the product avoid potential labeling
and liability issues.
